Welcome to the Lennox Estate community engagement website on the potential for new council rent homes

Wandsworth Borough Council is looking at building new council rent homes on the northern part of the Lennox Estate. This will mean:

  • All new homes will be for council rent
  • Existing residents of Lennox Estate in housing need or looking to downsize will be given priority for allocation of the new homes
  • New and improved green open spaces and soft landscaping
  • Increase in play space and improvements to existing play areas
  • Introduction of controlled parking in order to prevent non-estate residents from parking on the estate. Free permits to be provided for existing estate residents
  • Improved pedestrian access onto Upper Richmond Road
  • New flexible community spaces

This year, we have been refining the design proposals to respond to residents’ feedback. At the same time, we are also preparing the planning application documents before submission to the Local Planning Authority this Autumn/Winter 2025.

We will continue to keep you updated on this ongoing process through our newsletter! Our aim continues to be to meet the needs of local residents now, and for generations to come.

Winter 2024

We held an exhibition to show you the latest designs for new buildings and green spaces. We also displayed all the entries for the art competition and announced the winners.

Autumn 2025

Preparation and refining of development plans to submit for planning permission.

Autumn/Winter 2025

Submission of planning application to Local Planning Authority (LB Wandsworth). Review of the application and start of the statutory consultation process. A consultation letter will be issued with details on how to submit comments to the Planning Department.
